Banksia Collection

What isn’t there to love about Banksias. With 173 varieties there is surely one to capture everyone’s heart. I love their individual personality and how they are all so unique!

My Banksia pieces begin as a lump of Australian Southern Ice Porcelain and are shaped using traditional hand making methods (hand built or formed on the wheel).

Once firm and bone dry, they are ready for decoration. This is very time consuming, with the best part watching each vessel gain its own individual personality. Adding layer upon layer of terra sigillata (which is very watery) shows up all my maker’s marks. Each piece is lovingly taken through each stage until they are ready to travel out into the world to you.

Each vessel although unique sits quietly amongst its peers and forms one big happy family. Enjoy, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. x Pattie

My beliefs…..

Form and function play a big part in ceramics, but it doesn’t mean our everyday items can’t be beautiful to hold or look. I love everyday items and the special part they play in our lives, from my morning cuppa in my favourite handmade cup and my favourite afternoon tea plate. I’ve seen first-hand how handmade vessels gravitate to family members in my kitchen and share my work for you and your family to enjoy too.

Handmade objects are a celebration of humanity and connect us in this fast-paced world we live in and there to love, hold and enjoy every day. Using handmade turns simple everyday tasks into special rituals, encouraging you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Thank you for dropping by. x
